With the "True Historic" Les Paul you get as close to the original as never before!
With the launch of the limited edition Collectors Choice models, Gibson Custom Shop guitar builders proved that they can build good Les Pauls with the features that many enthusiasts, collectors and, above all, active players appreciate. With the meticulous research of the original instruments for the CC series, the guitar makers in Nashville gained some new insights, so that from the year 2015 the so far popular LPR series, reissue models of the years '52 to '60, was no longer built and replaced by the True Historic series.
For the"True Historic" models, the selection of materials and the production process has been decisively further developed. Hot Hide Glue" is used for gluing the neck, fingerboard and top. Hot-processed bone glue hardens as hard as glass and is regarded as the special feature of a good Les Paul in addition to the wood quality and the "Long Neck Tenon".
The"double carve" of the top means that after preparation by CNC manual finishing follows. In particular, the edges are given more harmonious shapes. The wafer-thin nitro finish gets a wet sanding. Thus a "True Historic" conveys the feeling of a well maintained original over the years.
Also the production of the pickups was further developed. Custom Buckers have differently wound coils with authentic wire and in the "True Historic" version the matching cap in dimension and material, so that the entire pickup corresponds to the original P.A.F. model.
The plastic components have also been sufficiently investigated. From the "poker chip" surrounding the toggle switch to the M69 "pup ring" for humbucker mounting, not only the appearance but also the material itself corresponds to the parts used at that time and accordingly also its aging properties over the course of the years.
Of course, the 1958 Gibson True Historic Les Paul Standard comes with certificate of authenticity and Gibson Lifton Style Case.
