The Gretsch CS2-R425-WB Catalina Special Edition Rock is a limited edition for 2020 with hybrid shells and wooden hoops. The drum shells are made in hybrid construction and are made of maple and walnut. They are Gretsch Formula Shells, which are fitted with maple wood hoops. These wood hoops give the Catalina drum set a particularly warm and natural character, with increased resonance and focused punch. As with almost every Gretsch drum set, the bearing edge is 30°, thus creating the classic Gretsch sound and providing optimum head support and tunability. The timeless Gas Cap Bass Drum Rosette visually enhances the Gretsch CS2-R425-WB Catalina Special Edition Rock Limited Edition and gives it the popular Gretsch look, just like the typical Gretsch T-Wing screws.
