The Gretsch G6131-MY-RB Limited Edition Malcolm Young Signature Jet pays tribute to none other than AC/DC's Malcolm Young, representing his iconic Gretsch in 1976 condition. Affectionately known as "The Beast," the electric guitar was the weapon of choice for his incomparable rhythm work until the very end, and underwent some serious modifications that Malcolm bestowed upon it over time. Following the terrific success of the Malcolm Young Tribute Jet, Gretsch now offers the legendary Signature Jet in its original "Beast" condition with full pickup equipment and intact Firebird Red finish, as seen and heard in the video for 'It's a Long Way to The Top' and at early AC/DC shows. including case!

2 inch thick doublecut jet body

The body of the Gretsch G6131-MY-RB Limited Edition Malcolm Young Signature Jet follows the classic doublecut construction of the G6131 and is composed of solid mahogany wood and an additional maple top. Inside, the instrument features resonance chambers that contribute to the unique tonal character of this iconic Jet.

Triple pickup setup by TV Jones

The Gretsch G6131-MY-RB Limited Edition Malcolm Young Signature Jet uses three humbuckers designed by renowned pickup winder TV Jones to get as close as possible to the sound of the "Beast". Two TV Jones Ray Butts Ful-Fidelity Filter'Trons are used in the neck and bridge position, while the TV Jones Starwood humbucker in the middle position is ready for clear and direct sounds with a good dose of punch.

Versatile switching options

To elicit multi-faceted sounds from all three pickups on the Gretsch G6131-MY-RB Limited Edition Malcolm Young Signature Jet, the instrument offers versatile switching options. Besides individual volume controls for each pickup, the guitar features an additional master volume and a three-position pickup selector switch, while the tone switch offers different capacitors for different Treble roll-offs.
