The Gretsch LTD Abbey Road RS201 Studiomatic Hollow Body Bigsby Classic Walnut Stain is a heartfelt tribute to Abbey Road Studios in London, one of the most iconic music venues in history, closely tied to legendary artists like The Beatles, Eric Clapton, and The Rolling Stones. To celebrate the 94-year legacy of this iconic studio, the Gretsch Studiomatic features authentic circuitry from the Record Engineering Development Department (REDD), along with additional special touches, including a custom Abbey Road case and detailed studio blueprints.

Classic hollow-body construction

The Gretsch Abbey Road RS201 Studiomatic follows the time-tested design of a classic hollow-body guitar, crafted with the signature quality of Gretsch. The body and top are made from classic maple laminate, while the neck, glued into place, is constructed from solid maple and features a comfortable C-profile. The guitar is further enhanced by a 22-fret ebony fretboard, and naturally, it includes the iconic thumbnail inlays, a hallmark of authentic Gretsch guitars.

Filter'Trons with Rumble Filter

The two Gretsch Classic Filter'Tron pickups at the neck and bridge positions deliver the unmistakable tones of classic rock and roll. The intuitive control layout features a Master Volume and separate tone controls, complemented by the special Rumble Filter circuit. Developed at Abbey Road Studios under the name RS97, the rumble filter prevents low frequencies from becoming too dominant in multi-layered multitrack recordings, ensuring clarity and balance in the sound. The filter can be engaged or disengaged via the push/pull tone controls and an additional rotary filter switch with two selectable positions.

The Gretsch Abbey Road RS201 Studiomatic Hollow Body Bigsby Classic Walnut Stain is completed with high-quality, gold-tone hardware. The combination of the Gretsch Adjusto-Matic bridge and the Bigsby B-60 Vibrato with a V-cutout offers rich, shimmering vibrato effects. Meanwhile, the six locking tuners, paired with the self-lubricating GraphTech TUSQ saddle, ensure exceptional tuning stability. To top it off, the Gretsch Abbey Road RS201 Studiomatic comes with a red hardshell case featuring the Abbey Road Studios logo, six custom picks, and a selection of documents and blueprints perfect for collectors and fans of Abbey Road Studios.
