The HOFA Basstrap 104 was developed to specifically reduce low-frequency problems in studios, control rooms, home theaters and hi-fi setups. Particularly in the bass range, standing waves, undefined low frequencies and disturbing booms can quickly occur and distort the sound. By placing the Basstrap in the corners of the room, it absorbs precisely these critical frequencies and ensures a much more balanced surround sound.
The Basstrap 104 achieves its strongest effect below 200 Hz. If several elements are combined next to or on top of each other, the absorption in the range below 80 Hz can be further increased. This makes the Basstrap particularly interesting for recording rooms, mixing studios or home cinemas with pronounced bass problems.
Inside, a specially developed mixture of different renewable natural fibers is used. The length-related flow resistance of the filling has been specifically tuned to absorb low frequencies. As a result, the Basstrap 104 reacts effectively where many conventional acoustic elements reach their limits.
The airtight construction is held in place by a stabilizing wire frame and covered with a robust polyester fabric cover. The top and base are made of multiplex wood and give the Basstrap its robust construction and high-quality appearance.
With its cylindrical design, the Basstrap 104 can be easily integrated into professional studios as well as living rooms. Despite its acoustic effectiveness, it does not appear technical or obtrusive, but blends harmoniously into a wide variety of room concepts.
The Basstrap is manufactured in Germany in collaboration with a local workshop for people with disabilities. HOFA thus combines functional room acoustics with high-quality workmanship and regional production.
HOFA Basstrap also meets important safety requirements for use in studios, event rooms or public areas. The materials have been tested in accordance with EN ISO 119252:2010 with fire protection class B2 and EN 13501-1:2007 with class E.
