With the Hagstrom H8-II Black Gloss the Swedish tradition company presents the reincarnation of the legendary 8-string electric bass, whose floating sound set the groove for countless psychedelic rock recordings. Hagstrom uses a contemporary construction with a mahogany body and a screwed maple neck with "H-Expander" tension rod and Resinator Wood fretboard. At the bass amplifier two Hagstrom Dyna-Rail humbuckers in combination with the extensive passive circuit provide a surprisingly versatile sound spectrum. Last but not least, the Hagstrom H8-II 8-String E-Bass has a massive Hagstrom Adjustable String-Through-Body bridge and precise Die-Cast tuners.
With four pairs of octaved strings and the extensive circuitry, the Hagstrom H8-II delivers floating psychedelic sounds.
Hagstrom uses a mahogany body in a chic retro double cut design and a screwed maple neck for the H8-II, which has an extremely slim "C" profile thanks to the typical "H-Expander" clamping bar. In combination with the 30.75" Short Scale Scale (781 mm) the E-Bass offers an extremely smooth playability over the entire fingerboard made of Resinator Wood.
The Hagstrom H8-II Black Gloss uses two Hagstrom Dyna-Rail humbuckers as pickups, which reproduce the floating sound of the octavated string pairs broadband and dynamically. In addition, the passive electronics offer extensive sound options for a particularly versatile sound spectrum. A separate slide switch can be used to switch the pickups on and off, while the push/pull switch in the volume control splits the pickups into single coils. In addition, a switchable Hi-Cut filter and the "Mute" filter are available to reduce the level and treble. Last but not least, the Hagstrom H8-II has a kill switch that mutes the entire bass.
Last but not least, the Hagstrom H8-II Black Gloss convinces with its high-quality hardware equipment, which convinces with unrestricted reliability. Accordingly, the Hagstrom Adjustable String-Through-Body Bridge is used on the bridge, whose solid construction with lockable string riders contributes significantly to the smooth sound of the bass. In addition, eight Hagstrom die-cast tuners on the head plate guarantee precise and stable tuning.

Took about 30/40 minutes to correctly set up and tune (this bit does a take a while) but What a bass it is. Weighted perfectly, great build quality and an awesome tone.
