The Andy Timmons ATZ300-BK Black features an ergonomically contoured body crafted from high-quality African mahogany for a rich, resonant tone. The neck is made from S-Tech Roasted Maple, bolted on using the Super All-Access Neck Joint for enhanced playability. The roasting process not only imparts a striking, unique appearance to the wood, but also boosts its stability and resistance to temperature fluctuations. The construction is completed with a smooth 22-fret rosewood fretboard, adorned with exclusive ‘ATZ Special’ inlays, providing both style and precision for every performance.
The Ibanez Andy Timmons ATZ300 delivers an exceptional range of tones, thanks to its triple pickup configuration from the legendary US pickup maker DiMarzio. The neck and bridge positions feature two DiMarzio DP186 The Cruiser humbuckers in a single-coil format, offering powerful, noise-free sounds perfect for any genre. The DP224 AT-1 humbucker, custom-designed for Andy Timmons, excels at delivering expressive Blues leads and well-defined chords with remarkable clarity. All three pickups are easily controlled through a five-position blade switch, along with a standard volume control and separate Tone controls, giving players full command over their sound.
It goes without saying that Ibanez Japan provides the Andy Timmons ATZ300 with high-quality hardware parts from renowned manufacturers. The Wilkinson VSVG tremolo, which is mounted with just four screws, expands the playing possibilities and offers extensive adjustment options in terms of intonation and string action. The headstock, on the other hand, features six Gotoh Magnum Lock tuners with a practical locking function and innovative 'Height-Adjustable Post' technology. The height of all six winding axes can be adjusted so that each individual string can be set to the optimum string angle behind the nut.
