While the Nyatoh body in the typically sleek RG design has supple contours and ideal balance both standing and sitting, the wide and flat "Wizard II-9" profile of the bolt-on maple-walnut neck promises easy playability of all positions of the 24-fret Macassar ebony fingerboard.

To elicit multifaceted but always perfectly articulate and tight sounds from the guitar amp, Ibanez equips the Axe Design Lab RG9 electric guitar with a Set of the hip Fishman Fluence Modern pickups in the nine-string version. In neck position, the Fluence Modern Alnico 9-string humbucker with a classic and a modern vo icing provides the perfect basis for crisp cleans and fluid solos with singing overdrive. The two voicings of the Fluence Modern Ceramic 9-String Humbucker at the bridge, on the other hand, easily assert themselves at maximum gain with razor-sharp focused mids and a tight Attack in the Mix. Both pickups can also be split via the mini-switch between the Volume and Tone controls to add glassy single coil tones to the repertoire.
