The slim-profile set maple neck offers exceptional comfort, while a pair of floating GB Special Mini Humbuckers delivers warm, expressive jazz tones with sparkling highs and rich depth. Completing the package are signature GB10 hardware elements, including the distinctive tailpiece, ebony bridge, and tuning-stable die-cast tuners, all tailored to George Benson’s exacting standards.
The Ibanez George Benson GB10SEFM-SRR Sapphire Red convinces with resonant hollowbody sounds and high playing comfort.
Thanks to the slim neck profile and the cutaway, the GB10SEFM offers unobstructed playability up to the high registers.
Elegant jazz guitar with high playing comfort
Crafted with traditional hollowbody construction, the GB10SEFM features a laminated flamed maple top, back, and sides, delivering a lively and resonant tone perfect for both classic and modern jazz. The laminated body construction offers controlled resonance and feedback resistance while retaining an organic, woody character. The three-piece maple neck features a slim, fast-playing profile and joins the body at the 15th fret, allowing smooth access to upper frets via a generously sized cutaway. The ebony fingerboard adds articulation and clarity, making this guitar as comfortable as it is responsive.
The floating mounted GB Special humbuckers allow the top of the Ibanez GB10SEFM to vibrate freely.
Floating GB Special Humbuckers
Two Ibanez GB Special Mini Humbuckers, mounted to float above the body, allow the top to resonate freely while capturing the guitar’s nuanced tone. These Alnico-magnet pickups are specially voiced to deliver the warm, rounded lows, articulate midrange, and clear, open highs that define a great jazz sound. Whether you're comping behind a band or stepping out for a melodic solo, the GB Specials respond dynamically to your touch. A traditional control layout – with a 3-way selector switch, plus individual volume and tone controls for each pickup – offers wide tonal flexibility, letting you dial in everything from mellow rhythm warmth to bright, cutting lead tones.
The string tension for the high and low strings can be adjusted separately via the adjusting screws on the GB10 tailpiece.
Perfectly matched hardware
The GB10SEFM-SRR is equipped with meticulously chosen hardware to meet the demands of serious players. The iconic GB10 tailpiece not only adds a visual signature but also allows separate tension adjustment for treble and bass strings, ensuring balanced feel and tuning stability. From the tailpiece, the strings pass over a height-adjustable ebony bridge, and then a finely crafted brass-and-bone nut, enhancing sustain and tonal clarity. At the headstock, sealed die-cast tuners provide reliable tuning accuracy, completing a setup that’s as stage-ready as it is refined.
Great guitar at good price point. Guitar was shipped with good double box protection. Although made in china, comes with stable and smooth guitar case. After opening it a great looking guitar is staring at you. It comes with standard nickel bronze strings, for more mellow tone I would recommend the ECG23 chromes. Sound is well balanced and unbelievable unplucked as well as plucked. The neck is right for easy playing, and well tuned. You may watch out when changing strings as with the special tailpiece could be a bit of fizzling. However, highly recommended.

First class guitar at an affordable price fantastic tone for those jazz tones , if any negative a little heavy on treble side but you don’t buy this guitar for bridge pickup , sounds great accoustic, finish, first class , great ebony fretboard with well shaped frets only negative on frets could do with a bit more polishing a little gritty no hardship to do this though, great fitting case keeps guitar well protected. All round one very happy guitarist. Would recommend this guitar

Beautiful looking instrument, solid construction, with a solid case too, it shipped very quickly and in well packed box. The sound is good too if a bit bright for some jazz soundings but it plays very nicely. Its a perfect instrument for the jazz beginner at the price.
