Distinctive Iceman design with classic humbucker sound
With the IC420-CGM, Ibanez brings one of the most legendary guitar designs from its own history back onto the stage. The distinctive Iceman silhouette was first unveiled in 1977 and is one of the brand’s most visually distinctive icons. Throughout music history, it has been played by greats such as Paul Stanley (KISS), Tom Angelripper (Sodom) and Daron Malakian (System of a Down), and has always stood for a powerful, unconventional style. The new Ibanez Iceman combines the legendary offset body shape with stylish gold hardware and an eye-catching goldfinish, whilst the Super 80 humbuckers deliver a bombastic sound. The Iceman not only stands out thanks to its stylish design, but also impresses above all in terms of handling and playability, making the instrument ideally suited for everyday use in both live performances and the studio!
Ibanez Iceman IC420-GD Gold
Robust construction with reliable hardware
The body of the IC420 is made from okoumé, whilst the three-piece okoumé neck, featuring a comfortable IC profile and a jatoba fingerboard with a 12-inch radius, delivers a comfortable playing experience for fast riffs and demanding leads. Precise intonation is ensured by the robust Gibraltar Performer bridge with Quik Change III tailpiece, which enables quick string changes and reliable tuning. The gold hardware finish harmoniously rounds off the elegant look of the Iceman IC420.
Super 80 Humbucker
In terms of tone, the IC420 is modelled on classic hard rock and heavy sounds, without neglecting a modern response. Two Super 80 humbuckers deliver a powerful, assertive tone with a distinctive mid-range presence and clear articulation, making the electric guitar perfect for everything from bluesy licks and rock-style leads right through to high-gain riffs. The pickups are controlled via a traditional layout featuring two volume and two tone controls, as well as a 3-way toggle switch, allowing for versatile sound combinations and dynamic playing.
