With top, back and sides made of okoume, the Ibanez PF16MWCE-WK Weathered Black Open Pore produces a decidedly rich sound with incisive mids and prominent lows. At the same time, the string vibration is directly transmitted to the top through the bay bridge with its compensated bone bridge inlay, producing a natural, warm tone. Meanwhile, the necessary assertiveness is provided by the voluminous dreadnought build and the open-pored finish, which contribute to improved vibration characteristics and present the overall sound at an impressive volume.

Accommodating Playability and Handling

While the generous 48mm nut width is tailor-made for fingerstyle acrobatics, chrome-plated die-cast tuning machines guarantee high tuning stability for consistent tonal performance. In addition, the velvety Nyatoh neck with laurel fingerboard fits comfortably in the hand and allows effortless gliding of the picking hand over all 20 frets, whereby even the high positions are easily accessible due to the generous cutaway. String changes are also completely straightforward thanks to the Ibanez Advantage Bridge Pins, which feature an integrated stopper that makes them far easier to grip and remove.

Ibanez Undersaddle Pickup and AEQ-2T Preamp

For a great sound when playing amplified, the model features an Ibanez Undersaddle pickup, which transmits the natural sound to the amplifier without distortion. The AEQ-2T preamp in the upper frame allows individual adjustment of volume, bass and treble and also has an integrated tuner for perfect tuning of the instrument.
