The African mahogany body supports a multi-piece top made of ash wood and panga panga, and the low-profile, streamlined design is stable and comfortable on the player. Ibanez also relies on KTS titanium rods to reinforce the bolt-on, five-piece neck made of purpleheart and p anga panga. With the pleasantly flat "Atlas-4" profile, the Bass also offers first-class playing characteristics for playfully easy grooving on the 24-fret Panga Panga fingerboard.
Nordstrand pickups and active EQ
For the electric tone conversion of the Premium SR1340B E-Bass Ibanez relies on pickups from the American bass specialists Nordstrand. Placed in the neck and bridge positions, the Nordstrand Big Single pickups equipped with offset Alnico pole pieces deliver a finely resolved sound with the perfect dose of aggressive growl to assert itself even in a dense band mix. For precise sound customization, the E-Bass also features an active Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band equalizer, whose center control has three selectable center frequencies. Thanks to the EQ bypass switch, the E-Bass can also be played in classic passive mode to achieve a particularly direct sound.
