The Ibanez SR500N-MAM Midnight Arctic Ocean Matte is a true all-rounder when it comes to detailed sound shaping. Thanks to a 3-way mid-frequency switch, the frequency point can be selected between 250Hz, 450Hz and 700Hz, allowing for precise sound adjustments. These adjustments are made via the active 3-band EQ with controls for bass, midrange and treble. In terms of tone, the SR500N-MAM features two Nordstrand Big Break pickups, which combine the rich character of a humbucker with the transparency of classic single-coils. In terms of playability, the electric bass is ideal for the rehearsal room or stage thanks to its lightweight okoumé body, whilst the five-piece neck made from roasted maple and walnut provides ample stability. Combined with the rosewood fingerboard and 24 medium frets, the bass offers the characteristically sleek SR playing feel and comfortable playability across all registers. The instrument is rounded off by the MR5S bridge with variably adjustable string action, which allows the bass to be optimally adapted to individual playing styles.
