Designed for aggressive riffing and precise shredding, this 7-string electric guitar delivers both visually and sonically with its sleek matte black finish and uncompromising hardware. Based on the iconic RG shape – long favored by players in heavier genres – it features powerful humbuckers and a slim, fast-playing neck ideal for technical fretboard work.
RG body made from Meranti & Wizard II-7 neck
The RG body is crafted from resonant meranti and shaped with deep cutaways, a generous tummy cut, and an ergonomic forearm contour to ensure long-lasting playing comfort – even during extended sessions. The three-piece Wizard II-7 neck, made from maple, provides effortless access across all 24 frets. Thanks to the Ibanez All Access Neck Joint, even high-register runs are smooth and unhindered.
Ibanez Quantum Humbucker
Equipped with a pair of Ibanez Quantum 7 humbuckers – specifically designed for 7-string guitars—the RG7421EXL delivers high-output tones perfect for modern metal and other high-gain applications. The guitar's five-way pickup selector offers versatile switching options, including parallel wiring for the neck pickup, allowing for a broader tonal palette that easily adapts to a range of genres beyond metal.
Ibanez F107 Fixed Bridge & Black Hardware
The Ibanez F107 fixed bridge, designed for 7-string setups, provides tight, punchy response and ensures maximum string-to-body resonance. It also offers extensive adjustability for fine-tuning string height and intonation, accommodating a variety of gauges and alternate tunings. The RG7421EXL is finished off with seven die-cast tuners and sleek black dome knobs, perfectly complementing the guitar’s stealth aesthetic.
Guitar arrived in a good condition. A quick look inspection revealed a flaw in the neck, there was a scratch mark. The back covers weren't flush with the body. Playing wise, the action was a bit too high so I needed to lower it a bit. The frets are horrible, scratchy & needed polishing and filing. The fingerboard was dry and needed some hydration. Electronics are perfect and did not require any more work, but the pickup needed height adjustment. Tuners are in good condition as well. The guitar was not tuned out of the box but that's fine.

Very interesting guitar. A liitle on the heavy side but still quite enjoyable. The neck is beautiful, smooth and fast, but the frets came kind of rough from factory. Sound and overall looks are very good, although it is not black but more like a very dark shade of grey Had a little problem with tune instability, solved by adding a string retainer bar at the headstock.
