Ibanez uses an alder body with subtly modified lines and the "Petal Grip", while the bolt-on maple walnut neck offers the familiar smooth handling. In addition to the elegant PIA Blossom inlays, the rosewood fretboard of the Ibanez PIA has 24 stainless steel frets and a scalloping from the 21st to the 24th fret, which makes playing in the high postions much easier. DiMarzio UtoPIA pickups in HSH configuration, especially developed for the Ibanez PIA, furthermore provide fluid clean and distorted sounds with velvety highs, restrained mids and a tight bass foundation.
