With the Jackson Custom Shop Dinky DK1 HH EMG Trans Purple the Jackson USA Custom Shop offers a real tool for merciless metal sounds. The slim Dinky design carries two active EMG 81 and EMG 85 humbuckers for powerful distortion sounds with razor-sharp tightness, while the agile speed-neck neck profile combined with a compound fingerboard radius of 12" to 16" enables even the most demanding techniques such as sweeps and lightning-fast legato lines without any problems. The Custom Shop Dinky DK1 was equipped with an original Floyd Rose tremolo system including a locking saddle for screaming dive bombs, especially for lead high flyers, without losing tuning stability.
The classic alder body with manoeuvrable dinky-shapings is finished with a two-piece glued cloud maple top with impressive bookmatching, the transparent purple finish of which adds depth to the wood grain. The screwed Speed Neck made of maple, on the other hand, has a satin finish for quick and resistance-free changes of position. The headstock of the Dinky DK1 is also painted in the matching finish and impressively presents the Nineties Jackson logo in abalone, while the fingerboard and headstock are framed with a single-layer ivoroid binding.
In the neck and bridge position of the Custom Shop Dinky DK1 an EMG 81 and an EMG 85 are used, whose additional battery supply of 9V not only provides overwhelmingly powerful sounds at every preamplifier, but also, in contrast to passive pickups, produces less noise and a clear signal at all times. Equipped with classic Alnico magnets, the EMG 85 delivers warm and round sounds in the neck position, while its counterpart on the bridge provides bright ceramic sounds. The two pickup classics are switched via a classic 3-way toggle and a master volume and tone control.
Instead of a fixed bridge, the Jackson Custom Shop for the Dinky DK1 uses an original Floyd Rose tremolo system that allows pitch modulation in both directions. Thanks to the locking saddle with 3 clamping nuts, the axle windings are not loosened when the tremolo is used, so that the Jackson Dinky DK1 HH EMG Trans Purple remains reliably tuned even when used excessively. Six original Gotoh mechanics with small wings sit behind the locking saddle, while genuine Schaller security locks guarantee a firm hold on the girth.
