At the heart of the SM-8 is an 8-inch optimized paper woofer for deep and controlled Bass down to 37 Hz (-10 dB). It is complemented by a 4-inch midrange driver with an optimized profile, which also serves as a waveguide for the 1-inch metal dome tweeter. This precise tuning ensures lifelike details without harshness and almost completely eliminates the off-axis lobing that is common in 2-way systems.

The woofer's flux stabilization minimizes magnetic distortion, while the tweeter geometry reduces high-frequency resonances.

Power that impresses

With an amplifier output of 300 watts Class D, the SM-8 delivers a maximum sound pressure level of 119 dB with a minimum distortion factor of less than 0.5 %. or in large control rooms, multi-channel setups or immersive formats such as Dolby Atmos - this monitor always retains full control and precision. The recommended listening distance is up to 5 meters, making it ideal for larger studios.

Individually adjustable thanks to integrated DSP

The SM-8 has an integrated DSP with up to 8 parametric EQs, delay function (up to 10 ms) and trim setting (-12 dB to +6 dB) for perfect adaptation to any room. It can be conveniently controlled via Ethernet or USB, and saved profiles can be called up directly on the speaker. This means that monitoring remains precise and reliable in any environment.

Flexible integration into the studio

The monitor offers versatile connection options for seamless integration into a wide range of studio setups. A balanced XLR/TRS combo connection is available for analog signals, while digital audio signals can be fed in via AES/EBU via BNC. In addition, an RJ45 port enables real-time control and fine-tuning of the DSP settings. A USB-A port is used to load or transfer saved calibration profiles so that individual room setups can be called up quickly and easily.

With mounting points on the top and bottom and a 4.25x2-inch hole pattern, the SM-8 is easy to install with Triad Orbit or compatible Hardware. The rugged, unobtrusive housing blends seamlessly into professional studio environments, while the low-noise port delivers clean, punchy Bass without distracting airflow noise.
