The GFP-3 is a 3-panel pedal with soft, sostenuto and sustaining pedals that can be used for various sound changes on the MP7SE or MP-11SE. The GFP-3 has a Half-Damper function, with optical sensors. It generates continuous data values so that the pedals not only function as on/off switches, but also make the sound steplessly controllable, just like a real grand piano or piano. This results in a particularly natural playing feel and a palette of timbres that cannot be achieved with conventional pedals.
At this price point you’d struggle to do better. Nice action - quite light (which is my personal preference). I previously owned a Roland which, whilst having that lovely ‘ivory-esque’ feel to the keys, I found the action a little heavy. Very happy with this Kawai - I am already planning a future upgrade to one of the more premium models (can’t afford it at the moment….)
