Korg SP-280 is a stage piano that almost realistically reproduces the feel and sound of an acoustic grand piano. This is mainly due to the high-quality keyboard, which is incredibly easy to play and records every facet that the player puts in. Together with the integrated metronome function, piano newcomers also achieve success quickly. In addition, Korg has provided the SP-280 with a stand, a pedal and a MIDI connector.
The Korg SP-280 has a Natural Weighted Hammer Action Keyboard (NH), which offers the same feel as an acoustic piano. All nuances of the playing technique are implemented exactly. Including harder response in the basses and increasingly easier response in the trebles. The three-level Key Touch Control function allows you to define exactly how the dynamics of the game affect the signal output and thus adjust the SP-280's response to your own playing style.
The metal stand included with the stage piano is light, stable, easy to install and takes up little space. Since the SP-280 can be set up practically anywhere, the possibility of transport was also taken into account during development. The instrument, including stand, weighs less than 20 kilograms.
The included retaining pedal functions like a "half damper" pedal. This means that the force of the holding pedal effect depends on the force of the pedal actuation. Alternatively, the optionally available PU-2 pedal unit can be connected to use a soft pedal and a sostenuto pedal in addition to the holding pedal.
The Korg SP-280 is equipped with a MIDI jack for the transmission of control data between electronic musical instruments and computers. Since devices connected via MIDI can control each other, the SP-280 can also be used as a multi-timbral sound module with 16 parts.
