K2061 / K2088 - Song Demos
The Kurzweil K2061 at a glance
The Kurzweil K2061 is a successful combination of synthesizer, sequencer, master keyboard and controller. The 61-key Fatar TP/9 keyboard is semi-weighted, velocity-sensitive and generates aftertouch. With the four synthesizers Dynamic VAST, 6-Operator FM, KB3 and VA1, the K2061 offers an enormous selection of outstanding sounds that meet every professional requirement. If that's not enough, you can make use of the Cascade Mode: This allows a layer to be routed through the DSP by any other layer; up to 32 consecutive layers are possible! The VARIATION button is a small highlight in itself, as it provides a second version for each sound. The versatile sound generator also has access to 2 GB of Factory samples and offers an additional 2 GB of space for integrating user samples. With over 2000 Factory sounds and 4000 memory locations for your own sounds, the K2061 has plenty to offer. There are over 500 Factory combinations for multi-programs and another 4000 for User combinations. The sounds of this synthesizer workstation can be further refined with 32 different effects, including reverb, chorus, tremolo, delay, distortion and EQ, which can also be used and saved with several in an effects chain. The high polyphony of 256 voices is sufficient to ensure that no fading note is swallowed even when playing at high speed. This also benefits the 16 parts of the internal sequencer, which can be used to create professional-sounding songs on the K2061 alone.
High flexibility and performance-oriented features
The K2061 shines with its ease of use and features that appeal to sound tinkerers and live performers alike. Nine buttons, knobs and faders in the control area allow direct access to sound-relevant parameters including effects of the sounds selected for each part or their synthesis model. The large, graphics-capable display and the category buttons for quickly calling up sound categories (piano, strings, synth, ensemble...) lead you quickly to your goal and make working on the instrument much easier. The K2061 is equipped with a ribbon controller for expressive handling of sounds. This allows you to modulate the filter, add Reverb or play the pitch by sweeping your finger over it! Furthermore, each of the 16 parts has its own arpeggiator and riff generator, so you can create basslines, melodies and the right accompaniment in no time at all. The K2061 is also a 16-zone MIDI controller, which is perfect for external MIDI equipment such as an expander and for controlling sounds in the DAW. The operating elements of the control area can be assigned to matching. There are various split and layer modes for the keyboard, which even allows you to layer multiple sounds and distribute them across the entire keyboard.
Professional connections
In addition to the input for the power supply unit, there are four pedal connections for volume, expression, Sustain and footswitch. Two balanced stereo output pairs connect the instrument to a mixing console, an audio interface or a sound system. The stereo input is intended for connecting a smartphone or CD player, for example, and integrating the music from it into the exercises. An external signal can also be processed with the effects of the K2061. The headphone output allows undisturbed playing and practicing at any time of the day or night, as well as a sound check in between. The K2061 can be connected to a computer via the USB port and used as a master keyboard with music software (DAW). The MIDI inputs and outputs allow interaction with other MIDI equipment such as a sound expander or a sequencer.
