The Kurzweil KaP1 is a portable stage piano that combines elegant design with professional performance features. Its 88 weighted hammer-action keys with H1 Ivory touch surface and adjustable touch sensitivity offer an exceptionally authentic piano playing experience – perfect for both stage and studio use. With a generous 256-note polyphony, the KaP1 ensures that no notes are dropped, even during complex passages or fast duets. Powered by Kurzweil's latest KORE 2.0 sound engine, the instrument provides 28 high-quality sounds, including rich grand pianos and versatile tones suited for classical, pop, jazz and more. To further shape your sound, onboard reverb, chorus and a 3-band EQ allow for flexible adaptation to any arrangement or room acoustics. Performance modes like Layer, Split, and Dual add creative options: layer two sounds togehter, assign a different voice to each hand or split the keyboard for duet-style playing. Ideal for practice and songwriting, the KaP1 includes an integrated metronome and a single-track recording function, which acts like a third or fourth hand – capturing ideas or assisting with layered rehearsal. The built-in 30 watt stereo speaker system features two speakers per side, each tuned for different frequency ranges, delivering a clear and dynamic sound that faithfully reproduces the piano's tones across the full spectrum.
Professional connections
In addition to the power supply input, the Kurzweil KaP1 offers connectivity for a soft/sostenuto pedal and includes a dedicated sustain pedal. A stereo line output allows easy connection to a mixer, audio interface or PA system for stage studio use, while the headphone output enables silent practice – day or night. An aux input lets you connect a smartphone or CD player and play external music directly through the built-in speakers. The USB port allows the KaP1 funtion as a MIDI controller for music software (DAWs) and with integrated USB audio, you can record your performance directly to your computer as a stereo track – no audio interface required, Thanks to its built-in Bluetooth 5.2 interface, the KaP1 supports bi-directional MIDI and audio over Bluetooth. This means you can practice wirelessly with learning apps on a tablet, stream music from your smartphone through the piano's speakers, or even record MIDI performances remotely into your DAW from across th room.
