The LD Systems ANNY 12 BPH2 is a portable, battery-powered, active 12" PA speaker with an integrated 6-channel mixer and two headset microphones, including pocket transmitters. The speaker configuration comprises a 12" low-midrange driver with a neodymium magnet and a 2" voice coil, as well as a 1.4" tweeter. The system delivers 185 W of continuous power, 215 W peak power and a frequency response of 40 Hz to 20 kHz (-10 dB). The maximum sound pressure level is 116 dB average or 122 dB peak in a free-field environment, whilst the dispersion angle of 90° × 50° enables precise sound distribution. The audio technology is complemented by a crossover frequency of 1,600 Hz, DynX DSP (Gen. 2), a Class D amplifier, and short-circuit and over-temperature protection.
Mixer, connections and wireless playback
The integrated mixer provides system presets, a 3-band EQ, reverb, delay and a priority/ducking mode. Two switchable mic/line combo sockets, a stereo line input via a 3.5 mm jack and a further stereo line input via two RCA sockets allow for the connection of various signal sources. A balanced 3-pin XLR mix output is provided for transmitting the output signal. The 6.3 mm footswitch input allows hands-free control of the internal effects. For wireless audio playback, BT 5.0 with SBC/AAC and True Wireless Stereo (TWS) are available for connecting two ANNY speakers.
In this configuration, both receiver module slots are each occupied by a wireless receiver. The two receiver modules expand the connection options by two additional input channels and can be volume-controlled separately. The kit includes two headset microphones, complete with pocket transmitters and AA batteries, as well as an antenna. Each pocket transmitter features a 3-pin mini-XLR input for connecting a headset, lavalier or instrument microphone, or a guitar cable. The MIC, 0 dB and -10 dB settings allow the input sensitivity to be adjusted to suit the connected signal source. The wireless receivers operate using FM modulation, each providing 12 channels and featuring a frequency response of 50 Hz to 17,000 Hz. The radio frequency range is 823–832 MHz + 863–865 MHz.
Flexible battery and portable operation
The ANNY 12 BPH2 can be powered by one to four Li-ion batteries, each rated at 14.4 V/5,000 mAh. The documented runtime ranges from 1.25 hours with a single battery in the ‘Music’ preset at full volume up to 50 hours with four batteries in the ‘Eco’ preset at medium volume. A full charge takes 3 hours when there is no audio signal. The ABS bass-reflex enclosure features integrated castors, a telescopic handle and a 35 mm flange. A USB-C charging port with 5 V and a maximum of 2 A, as well as the integrated mount for a smartphone or tablet, complete the mobile features.
