The Laney GH50R-212 Combo is a compact, all-tube combo that delivers a wide range of world-class clean and overdrive sounds to tone tweakers both on stage and in the recording studio. It allows the preamp distortion of the two complementary channels and the distortion of the power amp to be finely balanced, making it easy to achieve different sound characteristics and dynamic nuances. In addition to the classic passive 3-band EQ with mid-shift, the Laney GH50R-212 further features a studio-quality reverb effect, whereas the balanced DI-out with speaker simulation provides the convenience of directly picking up the sound. With 50 watts of power from two EL34 tubes, the Laney GH50R-212 combo has ample volume reserves for band rehearsals or live gigs that are powerfully articulated through two 12" Celestion Vintage 30 speakers, providing punchy rock sounds with pronounced mids.
The Laney GH50R-212 Combo has two channels that are set up identically in their basic sound character. Channel 1 has an additional Bright mode for emphasizing the treble, whereas Channel 2 has its own Volume control for precise adjustment of preamp and power amp distortion. The classic passive 3-band EQ provides optimum sound adjustment for both channels, while the Mid Shift function opens up additional tonal dimensions. Furthermore the integrated reverb effect of the Laney GH50R-212 convinces with studio-quality three-dimensionality.
To integrate additional effects, the Laney GH50R-212 Combo features a serial FX loop that can be perfectly adapted to the effect devices used by means of a level control . Thanks to the bypass function , it is even possible to completely remove the FX loop from the signal path when it is not in use. Furthermore, the Laney GH50R-212 Combo features a balanced DI output for direct pickup of the guitar tone on stage or in the recording studio. Here, the switchable speaker simulation promises a particularly natural sound experience, whereas the ground lift helps to eliminate unwanted hum loops.
Last but not least, the Laney GH50R-212 is equipped with an EL34 power amp that draws up to 50 watts of power from two of the popular vacuum tubes , providing plenty of volume reserves for band rehearsals or live gigs. Two 12" Celestion Vintage 30 speakers make use of this power to provide a punchy modern rock sound with pronounced mids and detailed highs that altogether guarantee a powerful reproduction of every riff or solo. Additional speaker cabinets can be connected via the corresponding connections at 4 Ohm, 8 Ohm or 16 Ohm impedance .
