The Ludwig Classic Maple Pro Beat Set in Vintage Pink Oyster is a premium maple drum kit. The Classic Maple series is designed for professional drummers seeking an instrument that excels in both sound and appearance. Each drum in the set is handcrafted at Ludwig's American factory. This shell set includes a 24" x 14" bass drum, a 13" x 9" tom, and a 16" x 16" floor tom, all finished in foiled Pink Oyster. The Classic Maple drums are made from seven plies of maple, giving a total shell thickness of 6 mm. Thanks to RFST molding, the shells deliver exceptional resonance. Fitted with Ludwig Weathermaster heads seated on a 45° bearing edge, the Ludwig Classic Maple presents a fully professional, balanced setup.
The exceptional sound of the Classic Maple Shell Set starts with its precisely crafted shells. Each drum is built from seven plies of maple, creating a 6 mm thick shell. The manufacturing begins with a core made of three cross-laminated layers of veneer. Using the RFST molding process, two additional layers are added to both the inside and outside of the shell. The bearing edge is sanded to a 45° angle and runs along the outer 1.5 mm of the shell, forming a sharp edge that gives the Classic Maple its open and resonant sound character.
