This is a heavy mic stand. It does what it is made for. To mount big large microphones and handle that with ease. You can no longer worry for the space, no tripod design. You can put it aside without taking much space at your place. And the controls feel smooth, I like it a lot.
A great product at a great price. Round base mic stands are ideal when space is limited and are safer than tripod stands (reduced tripping hazard) . The boom means it's easier to get close to the mic too when you're playing a guitar. I've purchased 4 to replace my tripod stands.
