Ryan Ratajski of Fuzzrocius Pedals
. With
two clipping modes
, this handy effects pedal delivers different versions of its poisonous bass sound, which is ideal for rock and metal. With
active silicon diodes
, the MXR M85 Bass Distortion delivers a biting aggressiveness with slight compression, whereas
LEDs
promise a more open sound with a little more gain. In addition to the
Distortion control
for adjusting the amount of distortion, the pedal also features a
Tone control
that determines the amount of treble in the sound. To maintain pressure and definition even at maximum distortion, the MXR M85 Bass Distortion's
Dry and Wet controls
allow the effect and clean signal to be mixed steplessly.
