With the Marshall 2061X HW Head British Racing Classic, the traditional company from the British Milton Keynes presents an authentic new edition of this extremely rare top, which was only produced in extremely small quantities between 1969 and 1973. Accordingly, the puristic relative of the 1974 Marshall Combo convinces with the powerful and direct sound of a hand-made full-tube circuit. Another special feature is the elegant green Tolex cover and the use of the classic block logo.
For all guitarists who can't or don't want to spend a fortune on one of the rare vintage originals, the Marshall 2061X offers the suitable alternative, which is as close to the original as possible. Accordingly, the transformers used are developed exactly according to the model of the old originals, while the hand-wired circuitry is constructed with the utmost care according to the old plans.
In the clean channel, the Marshall 2061X delivers an extremely musical and dynamic sound that is ideal for blues or country. With the aid of the tone control, the sound can be adapted to the character of the instrument used. The second channel delivers classic crunch and overdrive sounds covering the spectrum from blues to classic rock, depending on the selected input and the pickups used. Like many Marshall designs, the 2061X can use both channels simultaneously using a patch cable, providing additional sounds.
Thanks to the 20 watt power amplifier equipped with two EL84 tubes, the Marshall 2061X delivers an enormous volume that is more than sufficient for performances and rehearsals. In addition, the two power amp tubes can easily be driven to saturation to enjoy the full tube sound with incredible compression and sustain. A small but important detail that has been improved over the vintage original is the use of two speaker connectors with selectable impedance, which makes the choice of a suitable guitar speaker much more flexible.
