Classic Marshall tube sound in a limited-edition Jimi Hendrix model
With the Marshall JMH Studio Head, Marshall is celebrating its 60-year association with Jimi Hendrix in the form of a limited-edition special model based on the renowned Studio Vintage series. Manufactured in the UK, this all-valve head delivers classic Marshall sounds with 20 watts of output power, though this can be reduced to 5 watts for more moderate volume levels. Two bridgeable channels, featuring a total of four high-and low-sensitivity inputs, are modelled on the classic Marshall control layout and are adjusted via separate volume controls, as well as a shared 3-band tone control and presence control. Three ECC83s in the preamp section and two EL34s in the power amp section deliver the characteristic valve sound, whilst five speaker outputs allow for operation with 4-, 8- and 16-ohm configurations. The limited-edition Hendrix model is rounded off by the special black-and-purple design, created in collaboration with the Hendrix family.
