Solid construction
The Martin Guitars 00-18 derives its rich acoustic voice from a solid spruce top paired with solid mahogany back and sides. This carefully selected tonewood combination delivers a balanced tonal character with a pleasing overtone spectrum and a focused midrange, making it suitable for a wide range of playing styles. The top is also equipped with Martin’s Golden Era X-bracing, featuring a deeper scallop that enhances the top’s resonance. This improves overall responsiveness, strengthens the low end, and further expands the guitar’s tonal versatility. As a result, this Grand Concert model performs convincingly in any setting on stage, in the studio, or in intimate acoustic sessions.
Ergonomic neck
In terms of playability, the guitar excels with its comfortable Selected Hardwood neck in a Golden Era Modified Low Oval profile. This is paired with an ultra-thin ebony fingerboard with gently rounded edges, ensuring a smooth and effortless playing experience. The compact 00-14 Fret body is complemented by a shorter 632 mm scale length, which reduces string tension and makes the instrument particularly easy to play. Precise intonation and reliable tuning stability are ensured by nickel-plated open-gear tuners, a 44.5 mm nut width, and a carefully adjusted compensated bone saddle.
