The Martin 000-28E Modern Deluxe represents a perfect fusion of traditional and modern guitar-making. Classic elements such as the dovetail neck joint and the use of protein glue reflect time-honored construction methods, while modern innovations include liquid metal bridge pins, a carbon fiber bridge plate, and the newly developed Vintage Deluxe neck profile, which ensures outstanding playability. Built entirely from solid tonewoods, this 000-14 Fret model delivers a rich midrange with crisp lows and sparkling highs. The generously spaced fingerboard makes complex fingerings feel effortless. Smooth-turning tuners set into the distinctive Martin headstock make tuning the six steel strings a breeze. A visual highlight is the gold-plated frets, which add an elegant finishing touch to the guitar’s premium aesthetic. The 000-28E Modern Deluxe comes complete with a high-quality case.

Construction and woods

The solid Sitka spruce top is aged using Martin’s special Vintage Tone System, giving the guitar the look and feel of a well-played vintage instrument. The midrange response is particularly pronounced, making this guitar ideal for expressive fingerstyle playing. Solid East Indian rosewood back and sides enrich the tone with deep, warm bass, resulting in a beautifully balanced overall sound. The flat scalloped X-bracing and ultra-thin gloss finish contribute to a lively attack and long sustain. The neck is made of mahogany and topped with a smooth ebony fingerboard that feels comfortable and responsive under the fingers.

Hardware and design

Both the compensated bridge saddle and the 44.45 mm nut are crafted from bone, ensuring perfect intonation across the full 645 mm scale length. Gold-plated open-gear tuners offer precise and stable tuning, while matching gold-plated frets underscore the instrument’s luxurious appearance. A maple binding with herringbone purfling tastefully frames the top, complemented by a multi-stripe soundhole rosette. The classic Martin logo and elegant "Diamonds and Squares" mother-of-pearl inlays complete the design with understated sophistication.
