The Martin Guitars 0000-18 Custom Sinker Mahogany is the latest model from the custom store of the traditional US manufacturer from Nazareth, Pennsylvania. The mid-sized 0000-14 Fret Western guitar features solid tonewoods in the form of an Adirondack spruce top and a body made of Sinker Mahogany, which produces a fantastically balanced sound that will delight acoustic enthusiasts. In addition, due to selected features, the guitar offers exceptionally comfortable playability for pure playing pleasure and is also delivered in a shockproof case that guarantees safe transport and protected storage.

Compact 0000 design
The 0000 body shape is an in-house development based on the 000 or "Triple-O" body shape, which is also used by established musicians such as fingerstyle icon Eric Clapton. In order to add an even more distinct sound volume to the unique playing feel, the body shape of the 0000 is slightly enlarged. Thus, the matching more voluminous resonance body results in an increased assertiveness for distinctive sounds. The neck-body transition at the 14th fret allows optimal access to the entire surface of the fingerboard.

The solid top made of Adirondack spruce, whose fine grain leaves no doubt about the first-class quality of the instrument, ensures particularly brilliant tones and excellent treble response. It is not for nothing that spruce is one of the most popular top woods in guitar making because the light but at the same time stiff type of wood has excellent vibration behaviour and develops its sound characteristics to perfection over time. To protect the material when playing with plectrums, the guitar is equipped with a beautiful tortoise pickguard, while the top bracing in the form of the classic X-bracing provides a secure hold and the necessary stability.

Another premium feature of this model is undoubtedly the body made of both high-quality and attractive solid Sinker Mahogany. This is mahogany wood that has been submerged in the riverbed for decades, where, under the influence of the prevailing minerals, it has an extraordinary grain that adds a visual highlight to the guitar. In addition, the tree trunks were perfectly preserved, as the lack of oxygen underwater prevents natural weathering. However, the outstandingly balanced sound with a warm note and concise midrange is particularly noteworthy. Clearly, this noble, albeit very rare tonewood may not be missing in the Custom store.

For the highest possible playability, Martin Guitars also relies on time-tested materials when manufacturing the guitar neck. Thus, the guitar comes with a mahogany neck that fits well in the hand due to its density, flat profile and acceptable weight in combination with the necessary stability. In addition, the velvety ebony fingerboard allows the picking hand to glide effortlessly over all 20 frets. In addition, the 44.4mm nut width provides the ideal conditions for fingerpicking and expressive strumming. Meanwhile, the ebony bridge with compensated bone inlay and nickel-plated open-gear tuners guarantees clean intonation and high tuning stability.
