Construction and woods

The Sitka spruce top is treated with the special Vintage Tone system, making the instrument sound like it has been played for years. Especially the middle frequency ranges stand out clearly and distinctly, so that the instrument can be used extremely well for expressive Pickings. Rosewood back and sides additionally enrich the tone with warm bass frequencies, thus providing a very balanced sound overall. The flat scalloped X-bracing, in combination with the ultra-thin high-gloss finish, also allows for a quick response and a long sustain of the individual notes. The mahogany neck is equipped with an ebony fingerboard, which can be easily operated in all positions thanks to the neck / body transition at the 12th fret.

Hardware and design

The compensated bone saddle and 46 mm wide bone nut ensure precise intonation, perfectly complementing the guitar’s shortened 632 mm scale length for optimal tuning accuracy and playing comfort. Gold-plated side-mounted tuners allow for smooth, reliable tuning, while matching gold-plated frets add a touch of luxury. Visually, the guitar is just as refined—its solid top is framed by elegant maple binding with a herringbone inlay, beautifully paired with a multi-stripe rosette around the soundhole. Finishing touches like the stylized Martin logo and delicate ‘Diamonds and Squares’ mother-of-pearl inlays on the fretboard complete this instrument’s sophisticated and timeless aesthetic.
