Mayones Jabba Custom EP: First class woods

For the construction of the Mayone Jabba Custom 5-String the Polish bass builders rely on a selection of first-class woods. The body is made of two parts of light sump ash, while the top is made of burl poplar, whose spirited grain underlines the noble bass character. The one-piece maple neck has a Pau Ferro fretboard and is fastened with six screws, which guarantees a perfect sound development with crisp attack and long sustain. With its flat"D" profile, the neck also lies comfortably in the hand when playing the electric bass and offers the perfect basis for classical and modern playing techniques.

Aguilar Pickups, Mayones Electronics

Two Aguilar AG 5J-70 pickups in the neck and bridge position do the electrical sound conversion of the Mayone Jabba. These single coil pickups are based on the classic J-bass pickups of the seventies and produce a clear and articulate sound with the special portion of mid-growl, which allows expressive bass playing. The Mayones Jabba Fivestring is also equipped with the active Mayones M-BP3 3-band tone control, which allows precise tuning of the character frequencies. If necessary, the equalizer can also be switched off, with a classic treble control for shaping the tone of the passive sound.

Mayones bridge, Hipshot tuners

A high-quality hardware equipment that combines classic look with modern functionality completes the Mayones Jabba Fivestring. On the body is the Mayones Mayo Vintage Bass Bridge, whose high mass supports an even sound development and a long sustain. At the same time, their two-dimensionally adjustable string riders guarantee perfect adjustment of intonation and string position. From the bridge, the strings are guided over a 34.25" Longscale scale (870 mm) towards the headstock. There the strings run over the saddle of self-lubricating plastic to the Hipshot Ultralite tuners, which prevent top-heaviness due to their low weight and offer a classic look with their large wings.
