My Mandala-design drum rug

With a width of 200 cm and a depth of 160 cm, the Meinl MDR-MA Drum Rug 200 x 160 cm enough space for a full drum kit and a stool. This drum rug features a design called ‘Mandala’, which was hand-drawn by Meinl Cymbals artist Aric Improta.

“I love starting in the centre and working my way outwards. It reminds me of the development of a song or a solo. Both are based on a basic idea and are gradually expanded with layers until it feels complete. Trying to make everything symmetrical whilst taking into account the inevitable human errors that come with hand-drawing feels just like playing the drums, when you want to keep perfectly in time yet still retain an organic, human feel.”

Perfect grip

Thanks to its extremely hard-wearing and tightly woven fabric, the top side of the rug offers a perfect grip for the hardware. When you unroll the Drum Rug, the thick rubber underside is revealed. This guarantees a non-slip grip on virtually any surface, whilst also protecting delicate surfaces from the spikes on the hardware. The Meinl Drum Rug is fitted with a Velcro strap to keep it rolled up in the boot of a car. Includes a handy travel bag.
