As a model not available exclusively to the Premium Dealer Network, Music Man equips the Luke III HH Starry Night Sparkle Burst with a series of exclusive specifications. The body is classically made of alder, while the fivefold screwed neck is made of "roasted maple". A special thermal treatment in a vacuum removes almost the entire residual moisture from the maple, making the wood insensitive to climatic fluctuations. With its light"V" profile, the neck also offers a pleasant playability that allows every reef and solo to slip loose between the 22 frets of the ebony fingerboard.

The electric sound conversion of the Music Man Luke III HH PDN Starry Night Sparkle Burst is done by two DiMarzio Transition Humbuckers, developed in close cooperation between Steve Lukather and the New York pickup gurus. Accordingly, the DiMarzio Transition Bridge pickup convinces with a strong tone, whose warm sound development and organic dynamics implement classical riffs expressively. The neck pickup also convinces with its warm sound, whereby every note is represented with the perfect balance between deep basses and glassy highs. In addition, the Luke III is equipped with the Music Man Custom Preamp, which provides a hefty boost when needed to extract more gain and volume reserves from the guitar amplifier.
The Schaller M6-IND locking mechanisms in characteristic 4+2 arrangement promise high tuning stability.

In addition, the Music Man Luke III PDN is equipped with high-quality hardware that with its unrestricted functionality can also withstand tough applications on stage and in the recording studio. The strings are held on the body by the Music Man Standard Tremolo, which is suspended on two bolts and therefore allows pitch modulation in both directions. Schaller M6-IND locking mechanisms promise particularly high tuning stability, even with frequent use of the vibrato lever. The compensated plastic saddle is also located at the headstock, which ensures perfect intonation, especially in the low register.
