Music Man Pino Palladino StingRay Fretless 79 Burst - SignatureE-Bass with a unique sound
The Music Man Pino Palladino Fretless StingRay combines traditional StingRay DNA with individual specifications of the legendary session and live bassist. The signature model is based on Palladino's preferred pre-EB StingRay from the late 1970s and has been faithfully adapted in numerous details, from the special humbucker recipe to the electronics and hardware equipment. The poplar body provides a balanced foundation with a pleasant weight, while the bolt-on maple neck with rosewood fingerboard and white dots provides a classic playing feel. The asymmetrical neck profile is characteristic, merging into a gentle V on the bass side and forming a comfortable C on the treble side. Together with the compact 7.5" radius and the stable Graphtec Nubone nut, the result is an extremely direct, dynamic playing feel that supports precise pick and fingerstyle control as well as expressive slapping.
The Music Man Pino Palladino StingRay Fretless 79 Burst delivers a unique sound with a strong VIntage character!
Unique Late 70s StingRay Recipe Humbucker
The specially manufactured Late 70s StingRay Recipe humbucker is responsible for the characteristic Pino sound. Its shorter pole pieces are flush with the cap - a crucial detail for the iconic sound of that era. The pickup is complemented by a classic 9-volt preamp with 2-band EQ, as used in the pre-EB models. With volume, Bass and Treble, intuitive controls are available that allow quick adjustments without distorting the characteristic punch and Attack of the StingRay. High-quality CTS potentiometers (with 500k treble pot) ensure precise control travel and authentic response.
Hardware true to the original
The Hardware Signature model is also strictly based on the historical model: the Pre-EB Geometry Music Man bridge comes with solid brass saddles and stainless steel jumping mutes and, together with the Schaller tuners, ensures outstanding tuning stability and long sustain. A 3-ply, etched black/white/black Pickguard underlines the vintage look, which is rounded off by the high-quality 79 Burst finish. Made in the USA, the Music Man Pino Palladino StingRay comes with a mono case gig bag and offers a perfectly balanced combination of authenticity, modern manufacturing quality and musical flexibility - developed for one of the most influential bassists of the last decades.
