Powerful Bass for professional applications
The Neumann KH 870 II AES67 is a DSP-controlled reference subwoofer that has been specially developed to meet the requirements of modern recording studios. With its extended bass response down to 16 Hz and a maximum sound pressure level of 115 dB SPL, it delivers an impressive combination of depth, precision and performance. This makes the KH 870 II AES67 perfect for music production, film, broadcast and post-production.
Next Generation Performance
Compared to its predecessor, the KH 870 II offers significantly improved acoustic performance. Two newly developed 10-inch long-throw woofers with Extremely Linear Force Factor™ (ELFF™) technology minimize distortion even at the highest levels.
Multichannel bass management and flexible connection options
Thanks to its multichannel bass manager, the Neumann KH 870 II AES67 can be flexibly integrated into stereo, surround and immersive setups up to 7.1.4. Up to 12 analog inputs and 11 outputs are available via analog XLR inputs and outputs as well as SUB-D25 connections according to the Tascam standard. In addition, digital AES3 BNC interfaces provide additional flexibility, allowing up to 11 monitors to be integrated. With its redundant AES67 network connections, the KH 870 II AES67 is ideally equipped for modern studio infrastructures. It supports standards such as ST 2110, ST 2022-7 redundancy and RAVENNA, is compatible with DANTE®-generated AES67 streams and offers up to 12 network audio channels. It acts as a hub that receives multichannel audio and distributes it to connected monitors.
DSP control and room correction
The DSP architecture enables precise control and seamless integration via the separately available MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment software. This allows not only the frequency response, but also the Phase to be perfectly adapted to the room. Analog Neumann monitors such as the KH 310 or KH 420 can also be integrated via the MA 1 Multichannel Extension - a great advantage for hybrid setups. For quick adjustment, the subwoofer also offers two independent control modes: locally on the device or via the network.
Robust design for maximum reliability
The enclosure is made of sturdy wood with a durable paint finish and integrated rubber feet. A robust front grille reliably protects the two bass drivers from mechanical damage. The optimized bass reflex system prevents disruptive flow noise and ensures particularly precise output of the lowest frequencies.
The subwoofer also features a sophisticated protection concept with soft clip, peak, thermal and excursion limiters as well as temperature monitoring. A ground lift switch prevents ground loops, while the auto standby function improves energy efficiency.
