With the Neumann KK 205, you get real studio vocal sound on stage combined with the freedom of a Sennheiser wireless system. The capsule head uses a precision-manufactured Neumann true condenser capsule, delivering an open, detailed output with fast transient response and airy highs. Perfect for demanding vocals and clear speech even in challenging live conditions.
The sound of the KK 205 is based on Neumann's proven KMS series and challenges the notion that condenser technology is too sensitive for stage use. The capsule head is extremely level-resistant (up to 150 dB SPL) and remains clean and controlled even at high volumes. The hardened steel basket provides reliable protection, while an integrated, highly effective pop filter reduces plosives and simultaneously protects the capsule from moisture without unpleasantly emphasizing sibilants.
The uniform supercardioid polar pattern ensures high feedback resistance and strong attenuation of rear sound (typically from the monitor range). At the same time, the sound remains remarkably stable off-axis ideal for singers moving around the stage or when the microphone is not always “perfectly” positioned.
The KK 205 is specially tuned for typical live use at short lip distances. A fixed bass cut compensates for the proximity effect, keeping vocals clear, defined, and intelligible even when the microphone is used directly often requiring fewer EQ adjustments, which further improves feedback reserves.
