Granulita Versio from Noise Engineering is a granular chord resynthesizer that transforms any input signal into rich chordal textures. This digital effects module uses a unique granular algorithm to generate chords based on the tone and pitch of the input signal. The results can range from harmonies and unison sounds to simple intervals, as well as three- and four-note chords, with pitch and frequency determined at the start. The non-quantized pitch offset allows for detuning or transposing the output, creating dissonant atmospheres, complex harmonies, dystopian textures, or subtle vibrato effects. The intuitive control surface provides knobs and CV inputs to shape the number and behavior of grains, as well as their length and playback direction. The gate input and hit button can freeze grain playback, synchronize grains to a clock, or trigger them via an external source such as a sequencer. The Verb parameter adds a lush reverb effect, giving chord collages additional depth and atmosphere. Granulita Versio is a versatile effects module capable of generating evolving drone textures and transforming monophonic synth sounds into polyphonic clusters, making it ideal for experimental and ambient music.
