Granulita Versio from Noise Engineering is a granular chord resynthesizer that transforms any input signal into a chord sound. The digital effects module uses a unique granular algorithm that generates chords based on the tone and pitch of the input signal. The results range from harmonies and unison sounds to simple intervals, three- and four-note tones; gassing on the note and frequency determined at the start. The non-quantized pitch offset detunes or transposes the output to create dissonant atmospheres, more drastic harmonies or dystopian sounds and vibrato sounds. The control surface offers controls and CV inputs to influence the behavior and number of grains, length and direction. The gate input and hit button can be configured to freeze grain playback, synchronize grain timing to a Clock or trigger grain playback from an external trigger source such as a sequencer. The Verb parameter adds a dense reverb effect to the chord collages for more atmosphere. Granulita Versio is definitely an effects module capable of creating interesting drone sounds and weaving monophonic synth sounds into polyphonic clusters.
