Nux Pedals Queen of Tone Dual Overdrive: Left: Horseman circuit, right: Morning Star circuit
The NUX Pedals Quenn or Tone at a glance:
With the Queen or Tone, NUX presents a versatile dual overdrive pedal that combines two of the most famous overdrive circuits of all time in a compact housing - including clever additional features for maximum flexibility. On the left side is the Horseman Overdrive, inspired by the legendary Centaur, while on the right side is the Morning Star , a modern blues breaker circuit. Both sides can be operated individually, combined or switched in sequence. Whether as a transparent boost, gain stage or for hot Drive - the Queen or Tone is a flexible all-rounder for every board and can be used wonderfully in genres from Blues to rock and everything that goes further!
Horseman Overdrive with Gold/Silver mode
The left channel, based on the legendary Centaur clone, impresses with its high transparency and smooth drive. The Horseman can be precisely shaped with gain, treble and output controls and delivers crystal-clear brilliance in the treble. Pressing the footswitch for longer (approx. 1.5 seconds) activates the "Silver Mode", which offers an alternative circuit with an extended gain range - ideal for more assertiveness or singing leads. Gold mode, on the other hand, offers the typical, slightly transparent overdrive, which is also ideal as an always-on pedal in front of an amp.
Morning Star with Shine mode
The right channel is based on the famous Bluesbreaker circuit, known for its subtle saturation and open dynamics. Here too, an additional "Shine" mode (via footswitch hold) provides a more brilliant sound, slightly boosting the treble and providing more clarity in clean or crunchy settings. Both channels complement each other perfectly - either individually or combined.
Flexible routing and clever switching options
The signal sequence (Morning Star → Horseman or vice versa) can be adjusted as required using a switch - so the pedal can be optimally adapted to your own setup as required. There are two additional options on the rear panel: The BF/TB switch allows you to choose between buffer and true bypass, while the IFS/NORMAL switch activates the FET input stage and amplifies the signal to drive the sound hotter if required. The NUX Queen or Tone therefore not only offers two excellent overdrive voicings, but also enough flexibility for creative applications in the studio and on stage. Perfect for anyone who wants to expand their sound with legendary overdrive tones and modern features.
