The revised Orange O Bass Purple combines the successful retro charm of the popular original with a range of interesting visual and constructional details. Based on a design by Orange Technical Director Adrian Emsley, the four-string Bass comes in the classic SinglecutStyle with an okoume body and bolt-on maple neck with Purpleheart fingerboard. A Split coil pickup specially wound for the O Bass and traditional passive electrics are also responsible for the sound conversion, while reliable add-on parts in the form of a 4-saddle bridge and tuning-stable Open-Gear tuners complete the bass guitar.

When designing the O Bass, Orange not only pays particular attention to successful retro looks, but also to butter-soft playing characteristics that suit beginners and advanced players alike. Resonance-friendly okoume wood from West Africa is used for the body in the classic single-cut shape, while the maple neck with four bolts carries a fretboard made of durable purpleheart. The not-too-heavy C-profile with a comfortable 43 mm nut width promises comfortable handling and plenty of space for a clean grip on the notes.
A custom wound split coil with traditional passive circuitry on the bass amplifier provides rich bass sounds with an authentic vintage character.

On the bass amp, the O Bass delivers a rich palette of first-class retro sounds that range from fat Motown grooves to rich, growling rock riffs. The custom-wound split-coil pickup of the OrangeBass , which is positioned closer to the neck, reacts sensitively to the intensity of the attack and presents every note with a strong low-mid foundation and velvety treble spectrum. Orange also equips the electric bass guitar with a traditional passive electric system consisting of a volume control and a treble control in order to be able to adjust the Bass sound.

Thanks to its robust construction, the nickel-plated Orange Top-Loading 4-Saddle Bridge supports the lively sound character of the electric bass, while four individually adjustable string saddles ensure precise intonation and a comfortable string action. Open-gear tuners on the strikingly designed headstock of the E-Bass also guarantee precise and robust tuning.
