Solid spruce top & mahogany body

The body of the Ortega KTSM2-5 Ken Taylor Acoustic Bass consists of a solid spruce top with all-round pearloid binding and a body made of flamed mahogany laminate and impresses with its excellent resonance projection. The armrest, which is seamlessly integrated into the frame, always provides a comfortable armrest, even on longer gigs. For the left hand, on the other hand, there is a slim neck made of Nato wood and a 23 fret fretboard made of rosewood, which marks the fingerboard positions with Roman numerals.

Ortega MagusX/B pickup system

For additional amplification via PA and bass amplifier and for unadulterated direct recordings, the Ortega KTSM2-5 Ken Taylor Acoustic Bass offers an integrated pickup system consisting of a piezo pickup and associated Preamp. The Ken Taylor Bass uses the Ortega MagusX preamp, which is specially designed for bass guitars. The frequencies of the integrated 3-band equalizer are specially designed for the 'sweet spots' of the Bass, while the integrated tuner always provides a full overview of the instrument's tuning. The system is powered by a rechargeable battery that can be charged via a USB Type-C port.
