The Ortofon MC X series redefines the premium segment of moving coil cartridges and offers an excellent combination of technological sophistication, innovative design and audiophile sound quality. At the heart of the series is the flagship MC X40, equipped with a Nude Shibata diamond and an ultra-light boron stylus - for exceptional transparency and detail. The tonal basis of the series is a specially developed stainless steel housing with a honeycomb structure. Manufactured using the MIM process (Metal Injection Molding) and finished with a durable PVD coating, it guarantees maximum mechanical stability and minimized resonance.
Another quality feature is the newly developed magnet system with integrated pole cylinder, which ensures maximum signal fidelity in combination with pure silver wire coils. These coils ensure remarkable clarity and authenticity in sound reproduction. For further optimization, Ortofon relies on specially developed rubber dampers. These ensure precise control of the needle oscillations in the magnetic field, minimize distortion and significantly increase tracking accuracy.
