The distinctive Lyrachord body made of fiberglass reinforced plastic represents a true innovation in guitar construction. Combined with the mid depth body contour, it produces a warm and full sound that is enhanced by the solid spruce top with its clear and brilliant tonal response. Alongside the solid top construction, the Scalloped X bracing used here provides the necessary projection for a confident stage presence. With this bracing design, the top braces are carved more deeply in the center, reducing resistance and allowing the top to vibrate more freely, which supports open and dynamic sound development.
In addition to its positive influence on tonal characteristics, the mid depth body shape offers excellent player comfort. The curvature fits naturally against the upper body and supports a relaxed and ergonomic playing position when seated. The khaya neck combined with an Indian laurel fingerboard further enhances playability. With its comfortable C profile and slim nut width of 42.8 mm, it feels natural in the hand and invites powerful strumming as well as precise flatpicking. Smooth and reliable tuning is ensured by die cast tuners with ABS wings, offering high tuning stability at all times.
To faithfully amplify the distinctive sound of the 1516 PBM G, the guitar is equipped with the OCP 2000 pickup and the K 21CT preamp. Both components are in house developments that deliver convincing performance across the board. While the OCP 2000 provides impressive punch and clarity, the K 21CT preamp stands out with well defined mids that cut through especially well in a band context alongside drums and bass. A two band equalizer allows precise adjustment of bass and treble, while the integrated tuner ensures confident and accurate performance on stage.
The instrument is rounded off by its attractive appearance, which enhances any stage setting enormously. The tasteful pitch black metallic finish is a real eye-catcher. A harmonious image is achieved by the playful 'Fleur de nuit' rosette and the matching 'Fleur de nuit' inlay on the twelfth fret as well as bridge and fretboard made of Indian laurel. Another visual highlight is the classic Ovation headstock with brand lettering. These details result in the optimal choice for style-conscious musicians who want to deliver in every respect.
