In addition, the instrument produces a very powerful and warm sound, which can be passed on to an amplifier with the help of the in-house Ovation OP-4CT pickup system with integrated tuner. The flat neck can be played very comfortably in all 20 frets, which get an optimized access through a generous cutaway. To round off the instrument in a tasteful way, the manufacturer uses selected precious woods for the top, whose exciting grain is emphasized by a high-gloss varnish.

Construction and woods

Since the body is made of Lyrachord, the bass frequencies are colored with a pleasant warmth, which is not least due to the mid-deepth arching. Thanks to a top made of laminated curly maple, the mid frequencies are clearly defined, so that both strumming and picking can be perfectly realized. The flat Nato neck is equipped with an Ovangkol fingerboard, which is easy and obliging to grip.

Hardware and Design

A fitted saddle and 42.8 mm wide nut ensure clean intonation throughout the 643 mm scale, while oil-encapsulated die-cast tuners guarantee easy and precise tuning. The top wood is bordered by multi-ply bindings that aesthetically match the double-ringed abalone soundhole rosette and the filigree dot inlays in the fretboard.
