To mark the 40th anniversary of Paul Reed Smith 's US guitar company, PRS is celebrating this occasion with a real gem: the PRS 40th Anniversary Dragon Limited Edition Burnt Chestnut electric guitar is limited to 165 pieces worldwide and, thanks to two McCarty III humbuckers, not only impresses with its incomparable sound, but has also been elaborately designed with a unique design. The instrument is a real eye-catcher thanks to the combination of high-quality tonewoods and a magnificent fingerboard inlay and pays tribute to 40 years of PRS craftsmanship. The inlay artwork was created by artist Jeff Easley, known for all the Dungeons & Dragons rulebook covers, while it was finely crafted into the Gaboon ebony fingerboard by the Aulson inlay team. Celebrate four decades of unique electric guitars with the PRS 40th Anniversary Dragon
The 40th Anniversary Dragon
For a timeless sound, two McCarty III humbuckers developed by PRS were installed in the neck and bridge positions. The pickups are known for their versatile sound and convey a warm vintage sound reminiscent of classic PAF pickups. Alnico magnets contribute to the characteristic sound profile, while dynamic clean sounds or transparent overdrive riffs are optimally processed and the natural sound character of the instrument is nevertheless retained. Furthermore, a 3-way switch is used to control the pickups, while the obligatory volume and tone controls are available for volume control and sound coloration.
The PRS stoptail bridge with brass inserts ensures a robust lateral position and clean intonation, while enabling long-lasting use. The .010 - .046 strings reach the PRS Phase III non-locking tuners via the bone nut, which ensure reliable tuning. On top of that, the nickel pickup covers visually match the bridge and tuners, while the 40th Anniversary Dragon Design logo on the truss rod cover perfectly complements the fretboard inlay!
