With the PRS Wood Library Custom 24-08 Copperhead Burst, Paul Reed Smith proves once again that he understands the impressive presentation of the finest woods. The electric guitar has a unique Artist Grade Riegelahorn top from the Paul Reed Smith Wood Library, whose breathtaking grain is accentuated by the striking finish. Also intensely grained is the curly maple neck, which wears an ebony fingerboard and is glued to the sump body. The amplifier is also equipped with two PRS 85/15 humbuckers and the sophisticated PRS 408 circuitry.
For the construction of the PRS Wood Library Custom 24-08 Paul Reed Smith used exquisite materials from his wood library, which become a unique electric guitar thanks to flawless workmanship. The body is made of light sump ash, while the Copperhead Burst Finish perfectly highlights the impressive grain of the Artist Grade Riegelahorn top. Also intensely grained is the glued curly maple neck, which is provided with a fingerboard made of noble ebony. This combination gives the electric guitar a lively, brilliant primary tone.
When building the PRS Wood Library Custom 24-08, PRS Guitars also attaches great importance to perfect playing comfort. Accordingly, the neck has the comfortable "Pattern Thin" profile, which corresponds to a modern "C" shape with a thickness of just 19.8 mm under the first waistband and nestles into the hand with its perfect curves. With a saddle width of 42.9 mm, the fretboard also offers sufficient space for a clean fingering, whereby the well-known PRS Bird inlays provide the best orientation between the 24 frets.

On the amplifier, the Paul Reed Smith Wood Library Custom 24-08 impresses with its versatile sound, which provides the right tone colours for every musical style. Two PRS 85/15 humbuckers in the neck and bridge position do the electrical sound conversion. Developed for the 30th anniversary of the Stevensville smithy, both pickups convince with a particularly clear sound, which offers the perfect basis for classical and modern playing styles with extended bass and treble. Each humbucker also has a mini-switch at its side, which can be used to split the humbucker into a single coil without fluctuations in volume. In addition, a 3-way blade switch as well as master volume and master tone controls are available.
A high-quality hardware equipment whose hybrid finish of nickel and gold blends harmoniously into the noble design completes the equipment of the PRS Wood Library Custom 24-08 Copperhead Burst. On the body the proven PRS tremolo system is used as a bridge, which convinces with its smooth handling and allows decorating melodies and chords with softly shimmering modulations. With its smooth surface, it also offers the striking hand a comfortable contact surface for certain playing techniques. With the classic PRS scale of exactly 25" (635 mm) the strings run from the bridge in the direction of the headstock, where they are guided with a straight pull to the PRS Phase III locking mechanisms. Due to their semi-open cases and low weight, they counteract top-heaviness skilfully and at the same time convince with absolute tuning precision and easy string changes.
