With the PRS P245 Jade Paul Reed Smith presents a singlecut electric guitar, which convinces with noble woods, flawless workmanship and versatile timbres. The guitar made in Stevensville, Maryland has a Mahgoni neck and body, while the solid Riegelahon top in Jade Finish sets optical accents. On the amplifier, the combination of PRS 58/15 humbuckers and the PRS/LR Baggs Piezo System delivers a variety of tones between electric and acoustic guitar.
As with all guitars from the factory in Stevensville, Maryland, Paul Reed Smith takes the greatest possible care in manufacturing them. The body and the glued neck are made of carefully selected mahogany, while the top is made of intensively drawn curly maple, whose grain is perfectly accentuated by the jade finish. For a high playing comfort when playing the electric guitar, the neck also has the powerful "pattern" profile, which lies comfortably in the hand and allows both classical and modern playing techniques to slip easily out of your fingers. The typical PRS bird-inlay offers the best orientation between the 22 frets of the rosewood fingerboard.
At the amplifier, the Paul Reed Smith P245 convinces with its well thought-out pickup equipment with versatile timbres between acoustic and electric guitar. With its magnetic Paul Reed Smith 58/15 humbuckers, whose winding wire is made on a machine from the 1950s, the Singlecut guitar delivers classic vintage sounds with airy, light sound development and a warm singing voice. The PRS P 245 is also equipped with a piezo system developed by Paul Reed Smith and LR Baggs including an active preamp that delivers acoustic guitar sonuds with lively dynamics. The signals from both pickup systems can be mixed via the piezo blend controller, while the stereo output sockets also provide separate amplification for both systems.
The PRS P245 is completed by high-quality hardware from our own company. The body is equipped with the PRS/LR Baggs Stoptail bridge with integrated piezo elements. Due to its construction it contributes significantly to the excellent sound development of the electric guitar, at the same time it enables a perfect adjustment of intonation and string position. From the bridge, the 24.5" scale length (622 mm) strings run in the direction of the headstock, where they are guided over the saddle with straight tension to the PRS Phase III locking mechanisms, which convince with extreme tuning precision and low weight.
