Introduced in 1987, the PRS Standard 24 electric guitar has long been an important cornerstone in the PRS program and has been optically reworked and equipped with several new features in the S2 series. Made in Maryland, USA, the instrument follows Paul's original mahogany construction and with two PRS HFS and vintage bass humbuckers and solid PRS hardware is the right partner for rehearsals and stage.
The S2 Standard 24 has a foundation of mahogany body and neck with a classic glued connection and a slim neck heel for full control over all 24 frets. Unlike the original, a pickguard is used, under which the guitar's electronics are located.
The PRS S2 Standard 24 2016 uses an HFS treble in bridge position and a vintage bass humbucker on the neck. The popular pickups in black open coil design convince with strong trebles and present mids and offer a good mixing ratio in the intermediate position. As a pickup that is not too hot, the set is suitable for crunch sounds with a strong character, but also offers a tidy and defined sound in the high gain channel.
