D-Type Singlecoil & Starla Treble Humbucker

An S2 D-style single coil in neck position is available for authentic vintage sounds. Built in DeArmond style, the single coil sounds raw and clear in front of turned up amplifiers, while expressing itself articulatively up to the crunch limit. With an S2 Starla Treble Humbucker on the bridge, the Vela finally presents the hotter part of its sound range and convinces with a powerful brown sound and PAF sounds with a strong character. The bridge humbucker cannot be switched to coil split mode via the push/pull tone potentiometer.

PRS S2 Hardware

In addition to the pickups and electronics, the PRS S2 Vela has also been equipped with the premium-level hardware of the S2 series. The specially developed plate style bridge for the Vela guarantees a long sustain and perfect intonation of the played notes thanks to its brass string riders, while the top locking function of the low mass tuners ensures easy string changes.
